About the showWhat does "passing" mean to you? The word carries numerous meanings and connotations, from mundane, to emotionally charged, to evoking vivid surreality.
The concept of "passing" has particular significance for anyone who does not hold the position of power in a situation, community or context. For queer, and particularly gender-diverse folk, passing can sometimes be the difference between life and death.
To mark international pride month, Meanjin/Brisbane-born violist Kieran Welch examines what passing means to him, what it means to other members of the queer community, and what it means to everyone present.
Intertwining worlds of contemporary classical, electronica and visual art, experience Kieran's unique ability to share powerfully gripping stories through performance, journeying through hilarious absurdity, to raw emotion, and transcendental acceptance.
